the bubble

Every person has their own bank of thoughts, memories, experiences.  I have people that I’ve met, places that I’ve been, memories I cherish, opinions I’ve accumulated, and so on and so forth.  Notice the common idea…”I”.  Even in every day life “I saw…”, “I know…”, “I did…”, “I love…”, “I hate…”, “I believe…”, our lives are full of these statements.  Every person is stuck in their own bubble, obsessed with it even.  Yet, look back at the first sentence of this rant of thoughts…EVERY person has these things.  Each individual (while some more than others) has dreams, a past, ideas, feelings, and knowledge yet we are so obsessed with “me, me, me” and “I, I, I” that we completely forget that every other human on this planet has their own bubble too.  I’m so guilty of this.  However, I’m only writing this to encourage myself to get out of my own bubble. Instead of being selfish and pompous, I want to look in other people’s lives and learn from their set of experiences, ideas, and passions.  We need to realize that this world is not all about us. We need to discover what part we can play in this world to make it a better place and how to leave our mark.
